The Tempest
“Be not afeard! The Isle is full of noises”
Shakespeare Project
A bare school hall – a class of young people - some actors – a few props and costumes – some words written over 400 years ago –mix them all together and experience the power and imagination of the greatest playwright the world has ever produced.
Theatr Iolo will create a production of The Tempest and tour it to Years 7, 8 and 9 in High Schools during February and March 2009. This will be a specially abridged version designed to appeal to and engage young people in the “rich and strange” world, story, themes, characters and language of one of Shakespeare’s best loved plays
“We are such stuff as dreams are made on”
The project is an ideal introduction to Shakespeare.
