The beauty and excitement of a woodland environment will be the inspiration for Theatr Iolo’s next nursery storymaking project, building on the Suitcase Full of Stories. In June/July we will be taking children from Nurseries in the Vale of Glamorgan into the woods – namely Hensol forest. Here they will encounter the flora and fauna – the moss, bark, lichen, foliage of the forest itself and two actors in role who will take the children on a quest. The children will be invited to create stories about their woodland adventures; these will be recorded verbatim and will form the artistic raw material for our new nursery show in 2009.
The project is the result of a collaboration between Theatr Iolo, the Forestry Commission and The Vale of Glamorgan FEI (Forest Education Initiative) Cluster Group.
