Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and Theatr Iolo: Cast Announcement for Llygoden yr Eira

Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru and Theatr Iolo are delighted to announce that Iwan Garmon will star in Llygoden yr Eira this Christmas – a lovely winter’s tale for children under 5 and their families.

Iwan Garmon is a young actor from Cardiff who also has roots in north Wales. Iwan is a familiar face to both companies. He was a cast member in Theatr Iolo’s Pen-blwydd Poenus Pete earlier this year, a sparkling and biting comedy with an outrageous look at family life by Gary Owen. This is the third time that he has worked with Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, having previously worked as an understudy on Estron in 2017, an intriguing play about loss and mourning; and this year as a part of Theatr Unnos: Gwely at the Conwy County National Eisteddfod. In 2018 he played a leading role in Ŵy, Chips a Nain by Cwmni’r Frân Wen, a heartwarming production about dementia seen by over 5,000 people across Wales. He was a member of S4C’s BAFTA Cymru-nominated television series 35 Awr by Fflur Dafydd in 2019. He has also previously worked for the RNIB and Cwmni Mega.

Llygoden yr Eira is an enchanting winter’s tale for young children. Filled with play, puppetry and music, the show follows a child as he finds a little mouse fast asleep under the snow in a magical forest. Sliding, tumbling and laughing, the two new friends explore the winter wonderland together. Featuring delightful characters and visual, playful storytelling, this Welsh-language show is a festive family treat for fluent Welsh speakers and learners alike.

The production is being supported by way of sponsorship from The Swansea Welsh Drama Society, which is celebrating its centenary this year, and by the Elinor Wyn Roberts and Graham Laker memorial funds.

The tour will visit venues across Wales between 26 November and 21 December 2019. See below for a full list of the tour dates.
