Theatr Iolo announces Platfform Artist for 2020

Theatr Iolo have announced that Kyle Lima will be their Platfform Artist for 2020. In a year of collaboration with the children’s theatre company, Kyle will develop a new piece of work for young audiences with support and mentoring from the company throughout the 12 months.   Kyle Lima is a writer, actor and performer, and in his own words “a frustrated yet proud dyslexic” born and raised in Cardiff, South Wales. Trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama graduating in 2009 with a BA Honours in Acting, Kyle recently worked with Theatr Iolo as part of  Platfform New Writing; a sister project that nurtures and supports writers who are looking to develop scripts for young audiences.

As the Platfform Artist for next 12 months, Kyle will be supported by Theatr Iolo with a tailored programme of support, mentoring and space in which to develop and explore a new piece of work for young people. In late 2020 a scratch performance of the work will be performed to an audience, followed by a period of reflection to explore the future life of the piece.

“I’m thankful and thrilled to have been chosen as Theatr Iolo’s Platform Artist for 2020. The opportunity to work with this amazing theatre company is very exciting. Having seen Theatr Iolo and its Artistic Director Lee Lyford’s work, I couldn’t be happier to get the opportunity to collaborate with this visionary and imaginative company. I look forward to working hard to create a unique and magical theatre experience for children and as wide a range of audience as possible.”
