Baby, Bird & Bee. September 2020.

Theatr Iolo are seeking a performer for an upcoming tour of Baby, Bird & Bee, created by Sarah Argent and Kevin Lewis, for babies aged 6-18 months. As part of our commitment to ensuring our performers are as diverse as our communities, we are recasting this role for an autumn tour, giving further opportunity to performers who are currently underrepresented. We are also looking to meet new performers that we have not worked with before for future projects. All roles are paid above Equity minimum and include the appropriate allowances.

We are seeking one performer for the solo role in Baby, Bird & Bee and are looking for a confident, relaxed performer with a natural affinity for engaging with children aged 6 to 18 months.  This playful outdoorperformance for babies is mostly visual, with a few spoken words. The performer should therefore be comfortable with visual humour and have the ability to adapt their performance depending on the response of this young audience.  There are a number of gentle songs within the performance so a warm singing voice is required. Those applying must be available for an audition in Cardiff on 27 May 2021. They must also be available for rehearsals on 8 and 9 July (Cardiff) and then 31 August-19 September (Tour venues TBC).

To apply for any of the above role please send:

•               Your CV or a short video telling us about your experience

•               A short, written statement or short video telling us why you’d like to work with Theatr Iolo and why you’re interested in the role

•               Your headshot

Please send the above to admin@theatriolo.com by Friday 21 May 2021.

We are also looking to meet other performers for future productions and projects. If you would like to be considered for future productions, projects and tours, please send an up-to-date CV or a short video telling us a bit about your experience to admin@theatriolo.com by Friday 21 May 2021.

We are committed to ensuring our performers are as diverse as our communities, and so we welcome applications from individuals with protected characteristics. We are particularly interested in hearing from Black, Asian, minority ethnic and disabled people to ensure that we better represent communities in Wales. We welcome applications in Welsh, English or BSL.

Applicants must be UK-based and have the right to work in the UK.
