Theatr Iolo to remain part of Arts Council of the Wales’ national portfolio of regularly funded arts organisations.

The children’s theatre company, who have been running for 36 years, will retain their annual funding of £260,569*.

“We are delighted to have maintained our annual funding from Arts Council Wales and to continue to be part of the Arts Portfolio Wales. We’re looking forward to providing more memorable arts experiences that enrich the lives of children throughout the whole of Wales and to all that the future holds for Theatr Iolo.

However, our joy at this news remains bittersweet, as we learn of those companies who have not been successful in their bid to become or remain part of the Arts Portfolio Wales, as well as those who have received a reduction in their funding. These changes to the portfolio represent a huge challenge to many, but as a sector I hope we can continue to support each other and find new ways of working together to overcome these.”

Lee Lyford, Artistic Director and CEO

Theatr Iolo’s new funding relationship with Arts Council Wales will begin from 1 April 2024.
