Theatr Iolo have received official recognition from Efa Gruffudd Jones, the Welsh Language Commissioner, for our commitment to the Welsh Language.

Receiving the Cynnig Cymraeg demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that Welsh speakers can use more Welsh in their everyday lives. As well as bilingual communications, such as emails and flyers, we also aim to produce at least 45% of our theatre productions programme in Welsh and deliver at least 50% of our outreach programme in Welsh.

“We are delighted to have received the Cynnig Cymraeg from the Welsh Language Commissioner. Not only does it demonstrate our commitment to the language, but it also provides us with a practical development plan through which we can strive to do better for future generations. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to explore and engage in creative activities in the language of their choice.”
