Theatr Iolo appoints Jonny Cotsen as Chair of trustees and Glesni Price-Jones as Producer.
The children’s theatre company based in Cardiff have appointed Jonny Cotsen as the Chair of Theatr Iolo’s board of trustees. Jonny joined the board in 2020 and is now stepping into the role of Chair, following the departure of Evan Williams. Jonny is an advocate for better access in the Arts and wrote the Arts Council Wales’ Toolkit for venues and theatre companies, which provides guidance on how to improve access for Deaf audiences in Wales. He also runs inclusive drama workshops and is a Deaf Equality trainer for people with and without disabilities.
“Jonny’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Theatr Iolo as we approach our fortieth year in 2027. Jonny brings a wealth of experience to the role of Chair, and his commitment to accessibility for audiences, and advocacy for Deaf and disabled artists, will ensure that we step up to the challenge of creating more bold, authentic and accessible theatre for young audiences.
Lee Lyford, Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Theatr Iolo
“I joined Theatr Iolo because I believe in the power of theatre to spark imagination, empower young people with curious minds, and a space for ALL voices to be heard — especially those that are too often left out. It’s a privilege to support a company that champions creativity, inclusivity, and the next generation.”

She is currently a freelance Producer, working on productions including Taking Flight’s new show Martha, and will continue this alongside her role at Theatr Iolo.
“I first worked for Theatr Iolo as a Stage Manager at the Welfare Ystradgynlais in 2017, and now I'm thrilled to be returning to work with the company as a Producer 8 years later. As a child, I loved going to the theatre and taking part in artistic projects, and now that I have children of my own, I see the importance of broadening young people's horizons through the arts even more. I'm excited to be part of this ambitious team who have brilliant ideas, not only for new shows, but for collaborations and ways of working with the sector and our young people.”
